We are excited to have one of our own members speak to us for our February meeting!  Suzanne Shaffar is a long-time member of the Bluegrass Estate Planning Council.  She will be bringing her vast knowledge back to Lexington to talk about the current state of estate planning and how things might change - or stay the same - for 2022.  This topic is planning to cover the Smaldino case and step transactions.  Also covered will be trust income tax elections and the markets in 2022 and how they can affect planning.

Suzanne has nearly fifteen years of legal experience in Estate Planning, Probate and Trust Administration. A founding member of and previously the managing partner of the Lexington Estate Planning practice of Embry Merritt Shaffar Womack, PLLC, she is now Trust Principal at Glenview Trust Co.  She has been recognized by several peer reviewed publications as a leader in the field of Estate Planning and Probate Law.  She received her Juris Doctorate and completed her Estate Planning certification through Temple University.
 
Joining Suzanne will be her colleagues, Doug Dean, Managing Principal of Glenview Trust, and Bill Stone, Chief Investment Officer of Glenview Trust.
 

Please join us at the DoubleTree Guest Suites, 2601 Richmond Rd, for the remainder of our meetings this year.  A buffet lunch with be served.  The cost of this meeting is $15 for members and $25 for guests.
