DESCRIPTION:\nThe speaker for our originally planned May meeting is not able to speak with our group but will join us when we start back up in the fall!  So we have planned a wonderful May outing that will allow us to give back to our community.  Please join us on Tuesday, May 7th, at the American Cancer Society Hope Lodge from 5:30-7:00.  Here, we will be serving a meal to families of cancer patients who are staying at the Hope Lodge to be near their loved ones who are receiving treatments.  In addition to serving the meal, we will play a few games of Bingo with them and tour the facilities.  A very special thanks to BGEPC member, Beverley Stafford, of the American Cancer Society, who helped us set up this wonderful time of service.\n \nThe American Cancer Society Hope Lodge in Lexington opened in 2007.  It offers 32 guest rooms and is located in nearby proximity to treatment centers in the area.  It provides a supportive environment for patients in cancer treatment and their caregivers and provides all of the comforts of home.  Hope Lodge relies on dedicated volunteers to help ensure a comfortable stay and cook or provide meals.  More information for the Hope Lodge can be found here - https://www.cancer.org/support-programs-and-services/patient-lodging/hope-lodge/lexington.html\n \nBecause of the service nature of this event, it will be FREE to attend.  However, you still MUST RSVP to let us know if you plan to be there so that we can plan our meal and duties accordingly.\n \nIf you wish to attend this meeting, please RSVP no later than NOON on Friday, May 3rd,   by either clicking this link - https://www.bgepc.org/events/event/24648 - or by replying directly to this email.  Please be sure to RSVP so that we have plenty of space and for everyone.  Those who come to the meeting having not RSVP'd may run the risk of being turned away at the door if there is not enough space, so please be sure to RSVP.  You may cancel your reservations up to the time of the event.\n \nBecause of the nature and size of the space for this gathering, guests will be admitted only upon approval.\n \nIf you aren't able to join us, please be on the lookout for our 2024-2025 program year membership drive to arrive in your inbox in August.  Have a wonderful summer!!
